So the book cover art is from one of many stock image sites, one subscribed to by the person who designs the covers for me. She has me pick out something that works from the royalty-free collection and then edits it as needed – I’m not making any money at this, so I can’t really pay for original or exclusive art at this point.
The first book, I found an illustration I liked pretty quickly. I always knew I wasn’t going to do a half-naked person on the cover – my books are romance novels, but they are not steamy erotica. They’re more character-driven.
I wanted to stay in the same style for all the books in the series, but it was frankly much harder to find a blonde illustration that fit the character – a lot of the images would have fit the erotica market segment just fine.
But I found one that I like pretty well, and since the character is coffee-addicted, I decided the coffee cup was OK even if it didn’t fit the “party” concept. (To be fair, the party referenced takes place in a pizza parlor, not a ballroom.)
Anyway, here it is!
Also, book three is at 45,000 words and moving fast.
